about Tommy
Tommy is a singer-songwriter, pianist, vocalist and guitarist who also has a huge passion for giving the gift of music to the next generation through education. He started taking private classical piano and voice lessons at the age of 7 years old all the way through college. He also played piano and sang in church starting at 9 years old through high school. Tommy attended William Jessup University in Rocklin, CA, where he earned a Bachelor of Music in Commercial Music with a piano principle and an emphasis in performance. During his time at William Jessup, he was the tenor section leader. He sang, played and led Jessup’s Crossroads group, a chamber vocal and live band ensemble. He also auditioned for American Idol making it to Hollywood week after receiving a 4 yes golden ticket from Keith Urban, Randy Jackson, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. He began performing at festivals and playing small venues in the Sacramento and LA circuit. Since graduating, he’s been working as a singer-songwriter, performer, and music educator. He started his own artist project in 2017 relocating to Los Angeles going by the stage name Tommy Boi. He has gone on to receive over 4.2 million total streams on Spotify alone. He signed in 2020 to a label in London called frtyfve records and released his debut solo EP Starcrossed.
